Configure Fitness Testing Protocols

A Testing Protocol is a collection of fitness tests that you will be performing for a participant. Motivation allows you to configure up to 10 different testing protocols because you probably do not test all your participants in the same manner. For example, you may test your senior participants differently from those under the age of 30.

Select the Protocol to edit

Select the protocol you wish to edit from the drop down menu (Available 3, in this example).

Configuring your Protocol

1. You can rename the protocol to what you require.
2. If this protocol is going to be your main protocol you can set it as the default protocol by checking the "Default Protocol" check-box. When you carry out fitness assessments you will still be able to select from all 10 protocols.
3. To add a test to your protocol check the check-box next to the appropriate test. You can add as many tests as you wish to your protocol.

Saving your Testing Protocol

1. If you wish to use inches, instead of centimeters, for waist circumferences check this check box.
2. If you are using BMI as one of the tests in your assessment protocol, you can select whether to use criterion reference feedback/norms, or the default of rank vs population. You are offered this option because with the exception of BMI, fitness test results are linear based on either higher values being better or lower values being better. However, BMI measurements are not linear, but are curved based around an optimum result range.
3. Click the "Submit" button to save your protocol.
