Staff Interface

This document will explain how to manage Motivation Staff accounts.

Staff: Add/Change Staff

1. Click on "Staff" from the Motivation Administration Menu.
2. Click on "Add / Change Staff" from the drop-down menu.

Staff List

1. To add a new staff member click the 'Add New Staff Member' link.
2. To delete a member of staff, click on the "Delete" link. You will be prompted to confirm the deletion.
3. To view, or update, a staff members profile, click on the "Profile" link. (See the "Staff: Your Coaching Profile" section below.)

Create Staff Account

1. Using the drop-down menus you can assign a staff member to a particular Organization, Location or Unit.
2. Motivation provides the ability to restrict Staff members to only be able to access participants in a particular Organization, Location and/or Unit. For example you may want to restrict all staff at the 'Califon' location to be only able to access participants at their own location.
3. Login ID: This is the ID that the staff member will use to login to the administration side of Motivation. If the staff member is also a participant they will need a separate ID for the participant side of Motivation.
4. Password: Enter the password for the login ID. (Re-enter Password to confirm.)
5. Name: Enter the staff members name.
6. Email: Enter the staff members email address.

Create Staff Account: Privileges

1. Privileges: This section allows you to select what privileges that a the staff member will have to Motivation. Typically, it is better to be more restrictive with privileges as it is easier to grant additional privileges, rather than to take them away.
2. Advanced Privileges: BSDI suggests that you only allocate these privilege to a few essential members of staff, as if these privileges are abused it can cause a great deal of disruption to your Motivation site.

Click the "Submit" button to save the staff account.

Staff: Update My Coaching Profile

1. Click on "Staff" from the Motivation Administration Menu.
2. Click on "Update My Coaching profile" from the drop-down menu.

Staff: Your Coaching Profile

Each Staff member will be able to update their own Coaching Profile. Staff members only have access to their own profile, and cannot update, or change, other staff profiles.
1. Organization Served: Select the Organization, or All Organizations, that you will be serving.
2. Location Served: Select the Location, or All Locations, that you will will be serving.
3. Your profile: This allows you to provide participants some information about yourself, such as education, populations that you work with, coaching philosophy etc.
4. Show profile?: By checking the 'Yes' box, your profile will appear in the Coaches Corner on the Participant Home Page. If you do not wish the profile to appear, uncheck this box.
5. Picture: Motivation allows you to upload a picture of yourself to your coaching profile. Click the "Browse" button to find the image you wish to use. Remember to click the "Upload" button to upload the picture to your profile. BSDI recommends that the image that you upload should be approximately 120 by 120 pixels in size.

Click the "Submit" button to save your changes.

Staff: My Preferences

1. Click on "Staff" from the Motivation Administration Menu.
2. Click on "My Preferences" from the drop-down menu.

Each Staff member will be able to update their own Start Page.
1. Start Page: Staff members can decide which page they want to be their start page when they access the Motivation Administration Interface.

Click the "Submit" button to save your changes.
